Swimming (outdoor) is taking place at the Willem-Alexander Rowing Course. The course meets the highest standards, including the Olympic Games. It feels like you’re at the Olympics. The Netherlands has a rich history in Open Water swimming, with great success internationally as well. Currently, Maarten van der Weijden, Ferry Weertman and Sharon van Rouwendaal are naturally the most famous Open Water swimmers! Did you know that in 2019 Maarten van der Weijden swam the Elfstedentocht (195 km) in three stages for cancer relief.
