Swimming (indoor) is being held in Zwemcentrum Rotterdam. This brand-new Olympic competition pool is situated next to Rotterdam Ahoy. It’s Rotterdam‘s first 50-meter pool. Swimming is an important sport in the Netherlands. That is why ‘school swimming’ is organized, where children are given swimming lessons from an early age. Swimming is in the top 10 of major sports in the Netherlands. With athletes such as Inge de Bruijn, Pieter van den Hoogenband and Ranomi Kromowidjojo, the Netherlands has won many medals, including at the Olympics.
