Archery (target, field & 3D)

Archery is an Olympic sport that is practiced in the Netherlands by some 10,000 people in an organized setting. In 2000, Wietse van Alten from the Dutch province North-Brabant won a bronze medal at the Sydney Games. HKS Zoetermeer, which is organizing the archery event, is one of the largest clubs affiliated with the Dutch Handbow Association (NHB) and has a spacious shooting gallery and its own shooting range in the Westerpark in Zoetermeer. The city of Zoetermeer is about 20 minutes from Rotterdam.
