Amsterdam

Many tourists visit the famous capital of the Netherlands, Amsterdam. Known for its historic city center, canals and coffee shops. The city has a wealth of museums, including the Anne Frank House and the Van Gogh Museum. On the canals there are excursion boats, and there’s no shortage of good shopping hotspots. You can relax among the locals in the famous Vondelpark. With over 180 different nationalities, there is plenty of diversity in the city, and they’re proud of it.

Sightseeing

Besides the larger cities such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht, the Netherlands has many places of interest that attract many tourists every year:

Kinderdijk is located near Rotterdam and is known worldwide for its windmills. These 19 windmills have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1997 and are an important tourist attraction in the Netherlands.In the Zaanse Schans you can relive the Netherlands of the 18th and 19th centuries. In this unique village, you stroll past the bakery museum, look inside the warehouse where clogs are made, and the many windmills are also worth seeing.

Perfect base

From the Netherlands, you can easily travel to other countries. By train, you can be in Belgium in just one hour, and in two hours you’re in France. It’s also easy to travel to Germany by train. Thanks to the four airports that offer international flights, the Netherlands is also a good base from which to discover destinations further away.
